
He is predeceased by father Raymond mother Ruth sisters Margaret Alice and Annie Mae who died in infancy nephews Roger and Joel. Left to mourn are his son Kelly (Joy) and daughter Lucy brothers Raymond (Anne), Frankie (Shirley), Harold, Melvin (Suzanne), Joey (Cheryl), Richard (Elizabeth), Gary (Nerissa) sisters Glenna and Elsie Munro (Jerry) grandchildren, Brylen and Hilary and three great-grandchildren uncle Arthur Wheaton and numerous nieces and nephews. He drove a truck for many contractors and enjoyed his pets over the years, especially his special cat Mickey. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with his car, and spent a lot of time in the woodpile.

He was very dedicated to his mother and sister. Ernie was a kind person who would give you the shirt off his back. Ernie was the son of the late Raymond and Ruth (Wheaton MacLeod) Chandler. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ernest “Ernie” Alexander Chandler of Soapstone Mines, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. In memoriam donations to the Dress for Success Ottawa would be appreciated. A Celebration of Life will take place in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home-Orleans, 2370 St-Joseph Boulevard, Orleans, ON, Saturday, May 20th, 2023, after 12:00 noon. Sincere thanks to the incredible and caring staff at the Ottawa General Cancer Centre and Intensive Care Unit. She was happiest by the water with a good book, family and friends, and when possible, a lobster roll. Following retirement in 2019, she was an enthusiastic volunteer with Dress for Success and the Ottawa Public Library.

Helen was a long-time devoted Health Canada employee and handled many challenging files as Director General. She was predeceased by her parents William and Margaret (Doucet) Aucoin of Inverness, Nova Scotia. She was the proud and loving Nanny to Sam and Charlie de la Mothe.
